Let the journey begin! Upon arrival at Lima Airport, a Peru & U representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. During the drive, you’ll receive a detailed briefing on your itinerary and have the opportunity to ask any questions about your journey.
The rest of the day is yours to unwind or begin exploring Lima, known as the culinary capital of South America. We recommend sampling some of the city’s incredible local flavors at your leisure.
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at your hotel before heading to the port for a thrilling marine adventure off the coast of Lima.
Set sail to the Palomino Islands, located within a protected marine reserve. These islands are home to one of the largest colonies of sea lions in Peru, along with an impressive variety of seabirds. As you cruise the Pacific, you’ll pass historic landmarks such as San Lorenzo Island, the largest in Peru, and El Frontón Island, once the site of a notorious prison. You’ll also explore the Cavinzas Islands, teeming with marine life and bird colonies.
After your return to Lima, take time to enjoy the city’s world-class culinary scene, perhaps trying a fresh ceviche or a local fusion dish.
In the evening, experience the enchantment of the Magic Water Circuit at Parque de la Reserva. a dazzling display of colorful fountains, music, and light effects that come together to create a magical atmosphere and an unforgettable end to your day.
Enjoy an early breakfast before being transferred south to Paracas. This coastal town is the gateway to the stunning Ballestas Islands Reserve: home to sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and a wide variety of seabirds. Upon arrival, you’ll board a boat to explore the islands, gliding past dramatic rock formations, natural arches, and the mysterious Candelabra geoglyph etched into the desert hillside. After an unforgettable day of wildlife spotting and scenic views, return to Lima to relax and reflect on the adventure.
After enjoying breakfast in your hotel, you will be picked up and brought to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival in this historic city, a representative from Peru & U will be waiting to greet you and escort you to your accommodation.
During your transfer, your itinerary will be reviewed in detail, and any questions you may have will be answered.
The rest of the day is yours to relax and begin acclimating to Cusco’s high altitude. Stay hydrated and enjoy your first glimpse of this fascinating city at your own pace.
In the morning, take the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town) to explore the incredible Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, your guide will meet you for the short shuttle ride to the entrance of the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you’ll begin a guided exploration of this sacred citadel. The harmony between its cultural history and natural surroundings is simply breathtaking. As you walk through the ruins, your guide will share insights into the site’s fascinating architecture, spiritual significance, and the many theories surrounding its purpose.
After the guided tour, you’ll have free time to wander through Machu Picchu’s terraces, stairways, and hidden corners at your own pace. Take in the panoramic views, feel the energy of the citadel, and capture stunning photos to remember this unforgettable experience.
Later, you’ll descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll board the train back to the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival at the station, a representative will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco.
Today, dive into the rich history of Cusco with a guided city tour. Begin with a visit to Qoricancha, once the Inca Empire’s most sacred temple, later transformed into the Convent of Santo Domingo. Admire the stunning blend of Inca stonework and colonial architecture.
Continue to the Cusco Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas, home to a remarkable collection of colonial and Andean art.
Then, head to the outskirts of the city to explore the impressive ruins of Sacsayhuaman, famous for its massive, precisely carved stones. Visit the ceremonial site of Q’enqo, the Inca baths of Tambomachay, and the scenic lookout point of Puka Pukara.
After a day filled with Inca wonders and history, return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.
After breakfast at your hotel, your journey continues with a flight to the lush Amazonian town of Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to the port, where a scenic boat ride along the Madre de Dios River will take you deep into the rainforest and to your selected jungle lodge.
Depending on your lodge’s itinerary, your Amazon adventure may begin with a guided hike through the jungle. Along the trail, you’ll marvel at towering trees, vibrant flora, and breathtaking landscapes. At a lookout point, keep your eyes peeled for colorful toucans and macaws soaring through the canopy. As the sun begins to set, return to the lodge to unwind – take a dip in the pool or enjoy a refreshing cocktail in this serene setting.
After dinner, you’ll embark on a nighttime river safari in search of elusive wildlife such as caimans lurking along the riverbanks. Then head back to the lodge to rest up for more jungle exploration ahead.

Wake up to the soothing sounds of birdsong in the heart of the Amazon. After a nourishing breakfast, set out on a guided hike deep into the rainforest, following well-marked trails and crossing bridges over streams and gorges. Along the way, you’ll pass through lush flooded forests and encounter a rich variety of flora and wildlife.
Your journey leads to the serene Lake Apu Victor, known for its crystal-clear waters and surrounding marshlands. From a nearby observation deck, enjoy panoramic views and spot vibrant birdlife, including parrots, macaws, toucans, and herons, as well as turtles, caimans, and with luck, the elusive giant river otter.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then in the afternoon, set off with your guide to Monkey Island, just a short boat ride away. This biodiverse sanctuary is home to several monkey species, such as capuchins, howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, and tamarins – as well as coatis, sloths, and a wide variety of birds!
Cap off the day by watching a spectacular Amazonian sunset before returning to the lodge for a relaxing dinner.

Your destination is the mysterious Lost Cocha, a vital ecosystem that serves as a sanctuary and feeding ground for a remarkable array of wildlife. As you explore this untouched area, keep an eye out for otters, caimans, turtles, colorful birds, tapirs. The region is part of Ecoamazonia’s protected ecological reserve, featuring vast swamps and lush “aguajales” (palm wetlands) that remain undisturbed.
Climb the nearby observation tower for sweeping views of the rainforest canopy, then enjoy a peaceful canoe ride across the lake. After soaking in the sights and sounds of the jungle, return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch.

After enjoying your final breakfast and bidding farewell to the lodge staff, you’ll be transferred back to Puerto Maldonado in time for your flight to Lima, where you’ll begin your journey home. Until next time!
